"Babbling" juveniles (Bewick's Wren)
I've just posted two recordings of a juvenile Bewick's Wren "babbling" as it tries to reproduce the songs it hears. In the first, the babbling is mostly just a random set of whistles, squacks, and trills.
In the second recording, captured just a week later, the juvenile's singing is much more accomplished.

Do we have both Anna's and Rufous hummers here in Seattle? I have a feeder out but no hummers. I did see one hovering about the bush on my balconey, that was a few weeks ago, havnt seen it since I put up the new feeder. Do they usually stay in the same area or migrate?

Anna's Hummingbirds winter in Seattle. I believe the Rufous migrate.
Patience!
